The second letter indicates year of manufacture. I have been putting together a chart of the dates and code. By that chart, your gun was manufactured in 1988 or 1989.

Put about 500 rounds of various ammo and it cycled fine, except for Aguila subsonic ammo, which would not cycle the slide at all.
